Have you ever wondered how biblical concepts, and themes could be effectively relayed to believers in terms they could easily grasp. In other words, relayed in a manner to which Christians could know with confidence what they believe, and not only what they believe, but why they believe it. This is the designed purpose of Brand of Man’s Ten Minutes from the Pulpit. To express through a series of episodes, each one ten minutes or less, a basic understanding of fundamental Christian truths found in Holy Scripture. Truths, such as Baptism, the Law, Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, Covenants, Election, The Fall of Man, The Last Supper, and The End of Days just to mention a few.
When the Apostle Peter penned his first letter, he emphasized the combining of the deep emotion Christians have in their connection to God with careful and deliberate thought.
Peter tells us…
“Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.”
Peter knew, just as Jesus foretold, that this way would save the world.
So, it is of vital importance that the intense passion and excitement believers have in the cause of Christ is equally matched by a passion of thought and insight. Christians know, there is much more to faith than simple belief, the entirety of scripture speaks to this. We must know what we believe, and why, anything less is empty of the majesty and reverent fear of Almighty God.
As noted by Solomon, the wisest man ever gifted by God, “For as he thinks within himself, so he is.”
