- BOMM Devotional - Week of October 24
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the world. For God, whom I serve in my spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son, is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you, always in my prayers requesting if perhaps now, at last by the will of God, I will succeed in coming to you. For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established; that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine. Romans 1:8-12 The authority of God was seldom a matter set aside by the apostle Paul. By contrast, how quickly do we abstain from such exaltation? How quickly do we mold our thoughts, and speech to regard the feelings of others, or the correctness of culture, or even more so, our own self-image. Our condition has become the fulfillment of prophecy, as a once high view of God has been exchanged for a low one. As a result, our ability to reason has become worthless, and our conscious has been left without purpose.

to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1:7 Grace always comes before peace. For any person to have true, enduring calmness of the conscious, they must first have been provided and accepted an incessant surge of God’s love.

to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1:7 Here we see the whole of the Gospel. The sinner is first loved by God, then separated into holiness to love Him.

among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ… Romans 1:6 We may not all hear the call as Paul did on the road to Damascus, nor will many hear the call as Abram did in the city of Ur of the Chaldeans, but rest assured, if you are called of Jesus Christ, you will know. Not one of us is able to form even the slightest good thought of God, unless He presses that desire onto our heart.
- BRANDOFMAN: FROM THE PULPIT
Have you ever wondered how biblical concepts, and themes could be effectively relayed to believers in terms they could easily grasp. In other words, relayed in a manner to which Christians could know with confidence what they believe, and not only what they believe, but why they believe it. This is the designed purpose of Brand of Man’s Ten Minutes from the Pulpit. To express through a series of episodes, each one ten minutes or less, a basic understanding of fundamental Christian truths found in Holy Scripture. Truths, such as Baptism, the Law, Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, Covenants, Election, The Fall of Man, The Last Supper, and The End of Days just to mention a few. When the Apostle Peter penned his first letter, he emphasized the combining of the deep emotion Christians have in their connection to God with careful and deliberate thought. Peter tells us… “Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.” Peter knew, just as Jesus foretold, that this way would save the world. So, it is of vital importance that the intense passion and excitement believers have in the cause of Christ is equally matched by a passion of thought and insight. Christians know, there is much more to faith than simple belief, the entirety of scripture speaks to this. We must know what we believe, and why, anything less is empty of the majesty and reverent fear of Almighty God. As noted by Solomon, the wisest man ever gifted by God, “For as he thinks within himself, so he is.” Like and Subscribe our channel on YouTube to stay up to speed on the latest segment!

Through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles in behalf of His name. Romans 1:5 Paul would later quote the prophet Joel in Romans 10, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” He would then follow this statement with a sequence of events that take place before one “calls on the name of the Lord.” He indicates, “to make such a call to the Lord one must first believe the good news of Jesus. To believe, one must have first heard the good news. To hear the good news, someone must have first spoken it. To speak good news from God, God must first send someone to speak it.” The bottom line here, when we believe in the Lord Jesus, we must then respond. Belief demands our obedience, and our obedience demands our belief.

Through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles in behalf of His name. Romans 1:5 God must forever be first in the Christian worldview, and so must His grace precede any and all of His blessings.
- A look back on Season One...
The foundational and systematic approach I spoke of at the beginning of season one, utilizing Jesus’ parable of the two builders has now come full circle as we reflect on a sampling of what God has revealed to us of Himself. Of course, when we study the attributes God has revealed of Himself we begin to develop a glimpse of who He is and what He is. As a result, who God is and what God is will be on full display by what He does. So, as you view episode 8 which is a summary of season one, and a sampling of a couple common disagreements concerning God, ask yourself a few questions. Has God, through the holy scripture revealed a view of Himself that provides a better understanding of Him? If so, how would you characterize God through His attributes, low or high? Also, while reflecting upon these biblical truths, how do you prevent yourself from altering this perspective to suit our own desires? This is essentially an after-action review or AAR. .. This is an important tool you can use to maximize the information you have learned from scripture, always reviewing three basic questions, what I learned, why I learned it, and how can I apply it. Season 1, Episode 8 walks you through what we have learned in Season One, as well as some common questions asked regarding the attributes of God. We appreciate you listening this season and urge you to spread the word of BRANDOFMAN. We will be back very soon with Season two... but in the meantime, subscribe to our podcast channel, follow us on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram... and share with your friends. God bless you all.

Concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh, who was declared the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 1:3-4 The incarnation was not simply a matter of residency, as the second person of the Triune God became flesh. It was also an active and intentional engagement in the world of men. God intentionally put eternity aside for a time, and entered humanity, temporarily conflating heaven and earth - this is the true gospel of God.
- The Triune Nature of God
When we discuss what theologians refer to as the Trinity, we are not only addressing a Christian doctrine but an attribute of God. We are also confronted with a principle that is distinctive to the Christian faith. No where among all the religions of the world will you find the claim that God is One, revealed as three distinct persons. This Biblical principle is the cornerstone of Christian thought, while at the same time it is never mentioned specifically in any of the sixty-six historical documents assembled as Holy Scripture. Nevertheless, the concept of the Trinity specifically addresses two basic thoughts on God: Who He is, and What He is. The concept of a Triune God is undoubtedly the most difficult concept to understand and equally difficult to explain, but that does not make the concept any less true. Given all the other attributes of God, one will quickly deduce that He is infinitely greater than we are, not limited by any restrictions, and entirely distinct from all of creation. As a result, while we are able to grasp a few truths revealed of the Trinity, it will forever remain a mystery this side of Glory. BRANDOFMAN; Season 1 – Episode 7 encourages us all to renew our minds in the knowledge of God, and reclaim a worldview for the cause of Christ. We will commit to knowing what we believe, and why we believe it, and to better know God as He has revealed Himself to the world.

which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures. Romans 1:2 Paul’s writings are rich in Old Testament references, partly due to his formal education as a Pharisee, but also due to the continuous flow of salvation through its pages. Christians today often neglect the “left side” of the bible, instead focusing their attention on the “right side.” We should caution ourselves against such a practice, as the Old Testament is but shadows and images of things to come, all pointing exclusively to the Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth.
- God is Just
Justice is a fairly common term in the secular worldview, and one that we tend to hear used more and more, especially with unnecessary adjectives. The term Justice needs no modification. It was the Greek philosopher, Aristotle who generally defined justice as, “Equal Treatment.” Thus, anyone claiming injustice, would suffer the burden of proof. So, when the Bible reveals this attribute of God, the standards for what are moral, absolute truths develop, as only God determines what is Just. We have a tendency to view actions by God in the short term, often leading us to question the fairness of God, or the guidance of God. However, mankind will only receive one of two things from God at any given time; His Mercy or His Justice. What mankind will never receive from God is injustice. God alone, determines the distribution of His Justice or Mercy, but always for the ultimate good of His will, and to His glory alone. So, when we cry out for God to be fair, it is actually His mercy we are petitioning, as we deserve only His justice. BRANDOFMAN; Season 1 – Episode 6 encourages us all to renew our minds in the knowledge of God, and reclaim a worldview for the cause of Christ. We will commit to knowing what we believe, and why we believe it, and to better know God as He has revealed Himself to the world.
